By signing up for a Storm Event you have agreed to and acknowledge the following
As indicated within the participant waiver, the registrant acknowledges participating at their own risk and hereby for them self, heirs, executors and administrators, waive and release any and all rights and claims no matter how arising they may have as a result of having participated in this event including without limitation and negligence. They expressly confirm their understanding that the participation in this event is entirely at their sole risk and that the organizers and sponsors of the event, and their respective officers, employees, agents, and all volunteers or other persons engaged in the production of the event or otherwise associated with it shall have no liability for any damages sustained by them or any injury or loss, including personal or property loss, which they might suffer.
They acknowledge that their image may be recorded (by video or photograph) during the events. They agree to the use of their name and image in broadcasts, newspapers, brochures, promotional material and other media without compensation.
Extreme Weather
We live in Alberta and it can be cold! So in the interest of everyone’s safety and enjoyment, we will postpone an event if the temperature is forecast high is to be below -20oC on race day (As per Environment Canada). Postponement notices will be made on the StormXC.com website by 8:30am on race day. Registered participants can transfer to a later date and a make-up date will be announced as soon as possible. Generally the make-up date will be the following Sunday.
Refunds
There are no refunds for any reason including event cancellation or postponement. In the event that an event is cancelled or postponed, the Storm Snowshoe Series will make every effort to reschedule the race to a later date (Generally the following Sunday). If the registrant cannot make the rescheduled date, the registrant acknowledges that no refund will be granted. No refunds or transfers will be permitted once the event has occurred.
Transfers due to Unforeseen Circumstances
In the event that something unexpected occurs and you cannot attend the Storm event you must notify the Race Director via email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to make alternative arrangements. A transfer fee of $10 will apply and the request must be made before the Friday pre-registration deadline.
